Solana closed token accounts and rent reclaims: how they show up in tax reports
What rent is
Each SPL token you hold needs its own token account, funded with about 0.00204 SOL of rent. Closing the account returns that SOL.
Why it matters
- If rent is folded into a swap, your cost basis is wrong by a little on every trade, and across hundreds of memecoin trades that adds up.
- If a closed account's history is not fetched, its trades disappear entirely.
- "Wallet cleaner" services burn dust tokens and close accounts in batches. Some of them keep the rent, and tools often show these as sends to a stranger.
How the export treats it
Rent is moved out of trades into its own rows, reclaims are listed, and burns are flagged as disposals for review. Treatment can differ by country, so the fix list explains each case rather than guessing.
Try it: paste a public Solana address at api.stillroach.com/docs/wallet-export. The free preview shows the first rows and how many items need checking. Pay with a Stillroach credit pack (USDC or SOL) to unlock the full CSVs. No email, no card.
Free previewPublic addresses only. We never ask for a seed phrase or private key. Results are deleted after 24 hours. This is not tax advice: check the output with your tax tool or accountant.
